Key to specification table
Property Expected Type Description
New properties for DataRecord (pending schema.org integration).
additionalProperty PropertyValue
Schema: A property-value pair representing an additional characteristics of the entitity, e.g. a product feature or another characteristic for which there is no matching property in schema.org. Note: Publishers should be aware that applications designed to use specific schema.org properties (e.g. http://schema.org/width, http://schema.org/color, http://schema.org/gtin13, ...) will typically expect such data to be provided using those properties, rather than using the generic property/value mechanism.
Bioschemas: Additional to the use of name and description to describe this property in a human-readable way, additionalType should be used to specify the nature of the property/relation. For instance, if the property refers to a gene/protein disease association, you could use SIO:000983 (gene-disease association) as the additionalType for the additionalProperty.
isBasisFor CreativeWork
Product
URL
Bioschemas: A resource for which this resource is basis for. Inverse property: isBasedOn.
Bioschemas DataRecord: Whenever possible use Evidence Codes (ECO).
seeAlso Thing
URL

measurementTechnique Text
URL
Schema: A technique or technology used in a Dataset (or DataDownload, DataCatalog), corresponding to the method used for measuring the corresponding variable(s) (described using variableMeasured). This is oriented towards scientific and scholarly dataset publication but may have broader applicability; it is not intended as a full representation of measurement, but rather as a high level summary for dataset discovery. For example, if variableMeasured is: molecule concentration, measurementTechnique could be: "mass spectrometry" or "nmr spectroscopy" or "colorimetry" or "immunofluorescence".
If the variableMeasured is "depression rating", the measurementTechnique could be "Zung Scale" or "HAM-D" or "Beck Depression Inventory".
If there are several variableMeasured properties recorded for some given data object, use a PropertyValue for each variableMeasured and attach the corresponding measurementTechnique.

Schema: The variableMeasured property can indicate (repeated as necessary) the variables that are measured in some dataset, either described as text or as pairs of identifier and description using PropertyValue.
